The appliqué can be done in whatever method you choose.
I have seen these kits completed in a larger size by adding extra borders.
One quilter added large appliquéd cornerstone blocks using left over fabric for the appliqué.
She bought extra fabric for the her larger border treatment.
If you decide to extend the quilt please order extra fabric quickly as stocks may not be there in the future.
